The brief

We are looking to appoint an experienced executive search agent to assist us in concurrent recruitment a Deputy Director, Railway Safety and Deputy Chief Inspector of Railways (one role).

This is a senior leadership role in ORR carrying responsibility for the leadership, direction and delivery of key ORR railway initiatives, activities and interventions.

Key objectives of the role: Develop and maintain key relationships at senior levels with duty holders across UK's mainline railway, ensuring the highest level of co-operation and trust between ORR's inspectorial teams and their counterparts in the industry.

Be an ambassador inside and outside ORR, explaining our role and advocating the value that joined-up regulation, combining health and safety with economic and performance regulation, and create for the UK; Promote the integration of economic and safety regulation and elated activities, making the best use of people, expertise and intelligence across ORR to achieve our objectives; including input to the periodic review.

Acts as a role model for ORR's for corporate values and objectives.

Key Accountabilities: Lead operational inspection associated with mainline railway in the UK.

This includes the leadership of professional warranted inspectorial teams of (c x staff) covering: • Network Rail projects; • Network Rail routes; • Train operating companies; and • Freight operating companies.
