The brief

The City Development team wishes to work with a development manager to for further development of Kings Dock.

King's Dock comprises a former dock on the River Mersey in Liverpool and formed part of the Port of Liverpool.

There are seven sites totalling 7.6 acres disposed for development from August 2023 and residential-led, mixed-use development of up to 750 residential units and commercial space.\r The Development Manager will retain a design team (directly or under contract to the Council), undertake investigations and design, secure outline planning permission, market the opportunity to the highest quality and most aligned investors and carefully manage plot disposals.\r The Development Manager will be contracted to deliver the Services as detailed by the Council and will effectively lead this work.

Following the appointment of the Development Manager, the Council's role will become one of an intelligent client, managing progress, participating in key decisions and promoting good design, inclusion, social value, quality, financial and economic objectives.

It will ensure that ensuing site disposals meet its governance and value expectations.\r The development manager will be responsible for; Site investigations, Masterplan, Design guide, leading to securing outline planning permission and sale of development plots to aligned property developers.
