The brief

Shepway District Council (SDC), on behalf of Kent County Council (the Council) wishes to select and appoint suitable suppliers for the refurbishment of historic steps in Folkestone at The Bayle and Tontine Street (the Works) and invites prospective suppliers to submit a quotation to meet the Council's requirements.

The works are Heritage Lottery Fund funded projects and are part of the Town Heritage Initiative programme.

The specific requirements for the above are detailed in the Preliminaries Specification and Materials & Workmanship Specification at APPENDIX Ai and APPENDIX Bi.

It should be noted that by submitting a quotation, you confirm that you understand and can meet these requirements.

Interested suppliers must log in to the Kent Business Portal (www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk) and 'Express Interest' to download the Invitation to Quote documents.

The Council is seeking to award two contracts: one for refurbishment of The Bayle steps (Lot 1) and refurbishment of Tontine Street steps (Lot 2).

The Council may offer one party a single contract to complete both sets of works or separate contracts to two parties.

Quotes for each lot will be evaluated separately.

Suppliers must indicate in SECTION 2.1 of the ITQ Response document which lot or lots they are quoting for.

The Works are anticipated to commence upon 19th June 2017 and will continue for a period of 8 weeks unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract.
