Market Engagement- Direct Payments Support Service

Direct Payments are cash payments given to service users in lieu of community care services they have been assessed as needing, and are intended to give users greater choice in their care.

A support service could/might offer service users with help with Recruitment, Payroll, Information Advice and Guidance, DBS checks, Pension support etc.

Direct payments confer responsibilities on recipients to decide how their eligible needs are met, either by employing people, often known as personal assistants, or by commissioning services for themselves.

Service users can get support in fulfilling these responsibilities from direct payment support services commissioned by local authorities.

The County Council are looking to re-tender its current support service in accordance with the Care Act 2014.

As part of the scoping we are looking to engage with providers to receive some market feedback.
