The brief

Cotswold District Council seeks to commission a Consultant to prepare an updated Cotswold District Design Code (CDDC).

The work is required to support and form part of an updated Cotswold District Local Plan, and deliver on the Councils' ambition to make it 'green to the core'.

Radical action is required now.

New development and retrofitting should contribute to improving people's health, addressing climate change and lead to ecological enhancement.

Development should have a net positive impact on human health and to the natural environment that sustains us.

This commission will need to ensure that the Council's Design Code responds to recent changes to national planning policy and guidance and push the boundaries of what can be reasonably justified through the planning process to deliver development that is healthy, zero carbon ,, beautiful, and contributes to nature recovery This contract is anticipated to commence in July 2023 and will run until March 2024
