The brief

The contract is to provide web hosting services for both the Ofwat and Open Water websites, which are both built in WordPress.

The sites will be hosted in separate cloud instances for security and resilience.

The contract will also include maintenance and support services for the two sites.

The two sites are: http://www.ofwat.gov.uk and http://www.open-water.org.uk Scope of work The contract is scheduled to start on 6 December 2017 and last for a period of 24 months until 5 December 2019, unless both parties agree an extension in which case such extension shall be no more than 6 weeks in duration from end of Contract.

Hosting - this element of the contract includes a secure hosting environment, firewall and quarterly vulnerability scanning for both sites.

Maintenance - this element covers all updates and fixes to the WordPress core system and any associated plug-ins on the sites.

There will be a daily backup and synchronising of uploaded media and other digital assets and weekly web server image snapshots.

Support - this element covers telephone and email support, content changes and uploads where needed and minor site adjustments.

Support calls should be acknowledged within one hour of being raised, with a reasonable update given within four hours.

If the call cannot be resolved within one working day, regular updates and a timescale for completion must be given, as an indicative figure, around 25 support calls were raised in the last 12 months.

There may also be additional support work or development required to the websites as needed throughout the contract duration.

Any additional work should be quoted for and delivered to an agreed timescale.

Both the Ofwat and Open Water websites are built in WordPress 4.8.2 and have bespoke WordPress plugins.

The Ofwat site has 507 pages, 2,060 publications and 5,562 media items to be migrated; Open Water has 37 pages, 30 documents and 213 media items to be migrated.

The sites are currently hosted by separate companies so migration would need to be managed with both companies.

Key tasks for the Contractor • Liaising with Ofwat and current hosting providers to establish assets required for websites.

The Ofwat site is currently hosted by Forepoint Ltd and Open Water by Undivided Marketing. • Set up and configuration of web and database servers, and firewall. • Duplication of websites from current hosting environments. • Configuration and testing of CMS to ensure all functionality is working correctly. • Launch redirection of DNS settings to new environment. • Ongoing support and maintenance.
