GB-London: Study of the bulk data landscape for UK Telecommunications Companies
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits in the upper-middle of the Research & Development band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 20,405 valued Research & Development tenders in our corpus.
We are seeking information on the bulk data landscape in relation to UK telecoms operators, including a mapping of architectures, dependencies and risks.
Objectives & Scope: The study will develop a landscape of the bulk data environment of UK telecommunications services.
The key stakeholders within scope of the study are those who store, maintain or use data in order to facilitate delivery of Communication Service Provider (CSP) telecommunications services, such as: Mobile & Fixed Line Communications Service Providers Other organisations supporting CSPs who provide database or data management services, including offshore organisations Suppliers who deliver outsourced capability to the operators, such as managed service providers, and who use or access data in order to support CSP operations.
The study will encompass three broad considerations: The structure of the market and critically of the interrelationships between entities The types/nature of data being used and stored The impact of loss or compromise of data, or the underlying systems, on service resilience.
The study will, amongst other things, provide 'line of sight' between the centralised data repositories, required to provide services to end customers, and the telecommunications networks themselves.
The impact of both loss and compromise, of data, or its supporting systems, will be assessed.
