The brief

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are going out to Tender for General and Recycling Waste Across LFRS Sites.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) is intending to appoint a Service Provider who will provide a reliable, efficient, auditable and cost effective waste management (collection, reuse, recycling, recovery, treatment and disposal) service, which complies with all current (and future) legislation, managing various waste streams.

LFRS sites are spread throughout the County of Lancashire, including the unitary authorities of Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool.

LFRS has 39 fire stations, plus a Service Headquarters (SHQ) site in Preston and a Service Training Centre (STC) in Chorley.

The appointed Service Provider will be expected to provide an innovative approach to waste management utilising new technologies and equipment where appropriate, providing environmental benefits and making recommendations on how existing arrangements can be improved to achieve further cost savings and efficiencies.
