Greater Manchester has been awarded over £95m of grant funding from the BEIS Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) that is administered by Salix.
This is being delivered over multiple phases by consortia of GM public sector partners led by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).
Phase 1 of the Greater Manchester (GM) PSDS programme (£77.8m grant) was formally completed on 30th June 2022.
Phase 3a single year (circa £15.4m grant) is currently underway, having commenced on 1st April 2022.
Phase 3a multiyear (circa £2.9m grant) recently mobilised in October 2022.
The GMCA would like to continue to support its District Councils with developing and delivering a programme of decarbonisation activity across its public sector estate.
Decarbonisation interventions are expected to cover a range of technologies, including (but not limited to) air source heat pumps, electric panel heaters, solar panels to generate and create electricity or heat, insulation (fabric and pipework), LED lighting, and energy monitoring and control systems.
This commission will provide decarbonisation plans for buildings that have been shortlisted by GM District Councils (the asset owners), with a view to delivering the decarbonisation interventions over the next few years.
This is Stage 2 of the DPS process, with those who responded affirmatively to the Capability Assessment invited to participate.
