The brief

Redevelopment of Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters through the Traditional Route undertaking a two staged process.

The contract is envisaged to commence on 1st August 2022. i.

Demolish approx10,000 sq.m of existing buildings on site ranging in area and sizes.

Overall there are 8 existing buildings to be demolished at different times during the construction.

The demolition sequence will allow a phased approach for the construction of the new Headquarters. ii.

Construct a permanent 3 storey office building of approximately 3,000 sq.m during the first phase of the development.

This building will serve as decant space to allow the phased demolition sequence to continue. iii.

Construct a permanent 4-5 storey office building – the Main Headquarters – of approx 9,000 sq.m The proposals are set out over two wings with a central glazed atrium, which provides the entrance/reception and further informal ways of working.
