MAR/40 - Ulverscroft Road' Overbridge Structural Infilling of East span A vertical infill of the eastern span of the structure has been proposed to strengthen the overbridge.
The deck plates within the eastern span are severely corroded and have isolated areas of total section loss.
Given that the deck plates were the critical structural member in the 2002 BE4 assessment, structural infilling is considered the most effective long-term solution to strengthen the bridge to allow full, normal traffic loading to current standards (CS454).
