WATER SERVICES REGULATION AUTHORITY
Interim Principal Economist
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits in the upper-middle of the Business Services band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 57,319 valued Business Services tenders in our corpus.
Purpose The retail water market for business customers was liberalised in April 2017.
Ofwat wants to ensure that we actively monitor and assess the performance of the market in delivering good consumer outcomes.
We are looking for an interim principal economist to help us with this.
Key responsibility and outputs The key output required is an internal report on assessment of competition and consumer outcomes in the market 6 months after market opening.
The aim of this report is to provide an update to the Board on progress in the market.
We will also seek input from the Board on the structure of the report, potential gaps or issues with data and the narrative of the report.
This will help to develop our annual report on the state of market report due to be published in 2018.
The successful candidate will also be involved in the assessment and prioritisation of new issues arising in the retail market.
The candidate will need to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams, with colleagues across the Market Outcomes and Enforcement programme.
