The brief

The GMCA are looking for a supplier to develop an Apprenticeship ePortfolio to provide a cohesive cloud-based platform that will allow the delivery of apprenticeships within the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The platform is required to provide a structured way of delivering tasks to apprentices, based on the apprenticeship framework, and allow audit by managers, Internal Quality Assurers (IQA), External Quality Assurers (EQA), and End Point Assessment Organisations (EPAO).

Greater Manchester Combined Authority became an apprenticeship employer-provider in May 2017.

Since January 2018, all new firefighter recruits have been undertaking the Level 3 Operational Firefighter Apprenticeship Standard.

The Operational Firefighter Apprenticeship typically takes between 24-30 months to complete, commencing on the Apprentice's first day of Initial Training.

Further development then continues on station with the support of their line manager, Watch Manager, Station Manager and further training and development is provided by the Operational Training team.
