The brief

Thurrock Council wishes to undertake a soft market testing event on 1st December 2016 to explore what options could be created locally for those adults who may need support from the Council to fund their social care needs.

The demand for public services, including social care and health care, is increasing.

This is mainly because our population is ageing, but also because there has been a significant increase in the number of people living with long term conditions.

At the same time as demand is rising, public funding for services provided by the council is reducing.

The current domiciliary care contract is due for renewal in 2017 and Thurrock Council would like to take this opportunity to redesign and develop an exciting new service called Living Well at Home.
