The brief

Merrivale Road hub will offer supported accommodation and support through a partnership between the Council, Pivotal Housing Association and a commissioned support provider.

The service will enable young people moving from foster care, residential children's homes and 16plus supported accommodation to be supported to move in a planned and personalised transition from a supported care setting into independent living which they are able to sustain acquire the necessary skills in preparation for living independently, experiment safely with their increasing freedom and develop responsibilities associated with adulthood maintain relationships with support as needed.

The service is not intended to be a permanent home but to offer a phased approach to preparing and planning for moving on from the care of the Council.

It is estimated that young people will remain for between 3 and 12 months after their 18th birthday.

The anticipated duration of the contract is 2 years.
