The brief

Background Worcestershire County Council has pledged to plant 150,000 trees over the next 5 years as its commitment to biodiversity, climate change, access to the countryside and health and wellbeing.

Several sites owned by WCC are being put forward for the creation of new woodlands.

The phase 1 site, New Farm, Norton, Evesham is a former Council smallholding which is being developed as a mixed habitat site.

This tender is for the planting of the new native broadleaf woodland areas.

Tender Purpose This tender is for the phase 1 tree planting of 34,720 (Appendix 3) saplings on New farm during the autumn / winter of 2022/23.

The ground has been prepared by either previously arable fields being sown with a pollinator mix or existing permanent grassland that will have been cut / grazed short in preparation for the planting season.

The site consists of 4 main compartments as per the attached map (Appendix 2) with compartment 1 being sub divided into three parts 1a, 1b and 1c
