The brief

Northamptonshire County Council invites tenders for the delivery of a Sleep Service for children and young people with SEND in Northamptonshire.

The Provider will be required to provide a family-centred sleep advice service for children and young people with SEND, which works with families to identify and address sleep disorders, so that: • Children and young people with SEND can sleep better and consequently improve their day-time performance; • The impact of sleep problems are significantly reduced; and • Outcomes for children and families are improved.

Additionally the Provider will work directly with parents and carers to ensure that the Service suits their families' needs and provides: • Preventative and reactive interventions that are flexible and responsive; • Specific tried and tested behavioural and cognitive techniques to adapt their child's night-time behaviour; and • Information and education about sleep disturbance and ways to encourage good sleeping patterns.

The Service will provide one to one support and advice to families resident in Northamptonshire and to professionals working with parents of children with SEND.

The maximum budget available for delivery of service is £145,000 per annum, combining funding from Northamptonshire Country Council and Nene and Corby Clinical Commissioning Groups.

The contract is for 3 years, with an optional one year extension taking the total possible contract term to a maximum of 4 years.
