The brief

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is seeking proposals from companies to provide a digital data hub allowing data exchange between participants in combinable crop supply chains, AHDB and the wider industry.

Every combinable crop grower, haulier, merchant and processor in the UK will have access to it.

Part of the project’s ambition is to replace the current paper passport process for combinable crop movements across the UK.

The project’s objectives are to: • Build on the earlier eGrain Passport pilot project and develop a fully operational system for all combinable crops and all supply chains across the UK • Expand the scope to include other data as required and agreed with industry • Pilot the system across the full range of supply chains found in the UK Cereals & Oilseeds sector • Work with industry to drive system rollout across the UK.

The core requirement is to build a fully functioning digital data hub for the UK Cereals and Oilseeds sector allowing data to be shared both up and down supply chains, including replacing the current paper grain passports in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Beyond this the data hub must be flexible enough to capture additional data over and above the core passport data, as required by industry and allow it to be accessed by others in the supply chain.
