The Council wishes to maximise benefit from external funding made available through national bidding programmes, funding competitions and calls for "shovel-ready" projects, especially for infrastructure projects and priority policy areas such as green economy/low carbon agenda.
MKCC has limited internal expertise in the development of funding bids and is aware that large and complex bids typically require specialist help for short, focussed periods.
In effect, this commission will enable the Council to appoint a retained consultant to develop business cases and funding bids for a variety of projects and give flexibility that allows for peaks and troughs of demand.
