Bridgend County Borough Council
B896 - A Written Welsh Translation Framework
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
1.
Bridgend County Borough Council (the “Council”) has a statutory duty to comply with the standards specified by Welsh Ministers by regulations under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.
The Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 established a legal framework to impose duties on public organisations to comply with standards of conduct on the Welsh language.
This means Welsh must be treated no less favourably than English.
The Council must deliver services in Welsh and encourage the use of the language.
This means all publications must be produced bilingually and customers who contact the Council in Welsh must receive correspondence in Welsh.
To meet the requirements of the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011, we will be awarding a framework agreement to 10 companies (to be used via a call-off process detailed in the Framework Agreement) to translate documents from English into Welsh.

Matched against the notice text, so this is a floor — the tender pack will demand things the notice never mentions. “Says must” means the quoted sentence itself used obligation language; anything ambiguous is left as a mention.
