The brief

The Schools Water Strategy (SWS) is an invest to save service aimed at reducing the risk of flooding in schools.

The Schools Water Strategy is currently reviewing delivery options to provide flexibility around the number of Sustainable Drainage Systems grants that can be delivered per annum, and as a part of this are assessing the use of a 3rd party to provide Grant Management services.

Please review the previous notice issued on Contract Finder and Find a Tender for further details of the Schools Water Strategy and prior market engagement that has occurred. https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/99874fe2-0954-4c8f-a9ba-906c9994ea34 Following on from the above, the Department for Education’s SWS Team are hosting a Market Engagement event to further expand on our requirements and offer the opportunity for attendees to: • Gain a better understanding of deliverables and assurance requirements • Feedback around the feasibility of the requirements • Provide opinions on risks and issues • Discuss Market constraints and pressures that may affect suppliers’ ability to deliver • Gain a better understanding of Cabinet Office requirements around Modern Slavery and Social Value • Discuss the proposed procurement route We would like to invite organisations who have experience in delivering Government Grants, ideally who also have experience in the delivery of construction grants and / or working within a school environment to attend this event.

Please note this event is only open to organisations who have the capability to manage and deliver Government Grants.

The procurement of any services will be carried out in accordance with the relevant Government Procurement Regulations.

The purpose of this PIN is to inform of the Market Engagement event only and the event is solely to provide further information to the market and the DfE.

Any funding for the Sustainable Drainage Systems in Schools Grant Scheme relating to this Market Engagement Event is subject to approval in the 2025 Government Budget.

If funding is not secured in the 2025 Budget, then the Market Engagement Event maybe amended or withdrawn and future activity relating to this will be reviewed accordingly.
