The brief

TfGM as scheme promotor of the Bury Interchange redevelopment project has entered into a Service Level Agreement with The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), to enhance the scheme's social value offer.

The circa4-year partnership with SSE, will enable the charity (SSE) to deliver their Trading for Good programme in Bury.

The programme will run from 2025 to 31 March 2030 - during this period SSE will deliver four rounds of social/community entrepreneur programmes and work with New Local on local convening/market making activity in place.

SSE will deliver social entrepreneur provision for 20 social/community entrepreneurs p.a. (80 in total, over 4 years).

The entrepreneurs will gain access to a 9-month cohort-based enterprise learning programme; Match Trading grant of up to £4,000 and engagement with market makers.

SSE is the largest national learning provider for social enterprises in the UK.

The Trading for Good programme is not delivered by other organisations/charities and this opportunity was limited to SSE with the Social Enterprise programme offering majority funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
