Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
Condensate Water Pipework System - Quantity Surveyor
The project entails the replacement of existing Condenser Water pipework system with new.
This pipework runs from the Ground to the 30th floor of Guy’s Tower.
The project will need to be undertaken in two phases to ensure that cooling is available to the site at all times to the Hospital.
The existing Condenser Water pipework provides the heat rejection for the existing Daikin Applied centrifugal chillers consisting of two 1.7 MW packaged centrifugal chillers reference 1A/1B (System 1) and one 3.4 MW packaged centrifugal chiller reference 2 (System 2) located within the Ground floor plantroom adjacent the main hospital entrance.
The existing system is designed to allow for one system to operate at any one time, not two systems.
Therefore, only one system can be worked on at any one time.
A Condenser Water bypass is to be installed within the Ground Floor plantroom.
This is to allow for example system 1 chiller to operate with system 2 system, and vice versa.
The project is currently at stage 4 and estimates a 52-week construction phase.
