BFI SB Escape Routes Upgrade
The BFI requires a Contractor to deliver BFI Southbank Escape Routes Upgrade (Works) and is therefore undertaking a competitive process under a Closed Tender Procedure.
Recent fire risk assessments and condition surveys of the BFI Southbank building have highlighted several concerns regarding the condition of designated escape routes.
A number of these routes are currently in poor condition, primarily due to the age-related deterioration of exit doors and damage caused by water ingress.
This has affected not only the surface finishes but also some of the underlying structural metal elements.
To address these issues, essential repair and upgrade works are required.
With these we aim to prevent further deterioration, restore the integrity of the escape routes, and enhance the overall appearance of the building.
Appendix E sets out the full Scope of Works for all different areas of the building.
Appendix F sets out the basic design for the most complex locations.
The contract will be awarded for 5 months and the budget for the works is up to £250,000 - £300,000
