The brief

The Health-Related Behaviour Survey (HRBS) is a well-established tool used by local authorities to gather anonymous, self-reported data from pupils on a wide range of health-related behaviours, attitudes, and experiences.

CCC intends to commission a one-off HRBS for Year 8 and Year 10 pupils in participating Cambridgeshire and Peterborough secondary schools (including those not in mainstream education where feasible) during the 2025/26 academic year.

The survey will cover domains such as: Healthy eating and physical activity *Emotional wellbeing and resilience (including WEMWBS) *Sleep and screen time *Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drug use *Relationships and sexual health *Bullying, harassment, and online safety *School experience and pupil voice The provider will be expected to: *Supply secure, age-appropriate survey instruments (online and/or paper). *Ensure anonymity and GDPR compliance, including privacy notices and DPIA. *Provide school-level reports and a countywide report, with analysis by year group, gender, SEN/EHCP, deprivation proxies, and locality/place. *Offer optional trend analysis against previous HRBS waves and thematic deep dives (e.g., vaping, sexual harassment).

The provider would be expected to work with the Cambridgeshire PSHE Service who will lead on local administration and school engagement, and its results with local schools education settings.
