Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC), through its Registration Services, acts as the relevant authority for the Black Country Coroners Service.

The jurisdiction of the Black Country Coroners Service encompasses the four local authority areas of Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley, and Wolverhampton.

To support the delivery of coronial responsibilities, the provision of mortuary and pathology services across the Black Country region has beenll be procured under this contract.

The services will be divided into four (4) Lots, each corresponding to one of the local authority areas.

Each Lot represents the provision of mortuary and pathology services specific to the corresponding local authority area.

The criteria for each lot will be the same, where TUPE arrangements may apply.

The contract is divided into the following lots: Lot 1 - Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Lot 2 - Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council Lot 3 - City of Wolverhampton Council and Lot 4 - Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council
