Waste & Resources Action Programme
Consultant support: Development of a digital Food Loss and Waste (FLW) data taxonomy
WRAP is developing a structured digital data taxonomy to harmonise the collection and reporting of food waste data across its global Food Programme and Food Pact Network.
The taxonomy will provide a consistent framework for classifying food waste data (e.g. product categories, supply chain stages, waste destinations, and interventions), improving comparability across countries and increasing efficiency in data reporting and analysis.
WRAP requires the services of an external data specialist to support the technical design of the taxonomy, including the development of structured classifications, coding systems, and a machine-readable schema.
The consultant will work with WRAP subject matter experts to translate programme requirements into a practical and usable taxonomy aligned with WRAP’s existing data capture processes.
