The brief

UHSussex has awarded a five-year fully comprehensive maintenance contract for seventeen Medtronic FT10 Diathermy units located within Theatres, Gynaecology Outpatients and Maternity services at St Richard's Hospital.

The contract includes planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, technical support, replacement parts, labour, travel and OEM-certified servicing to ensure the continued safe and compliant operation of critical surgical equipment.

The contract has been awarded directly to Medtronic as the original equipment manufacturer due to the absence of competition for technical reasons and the requirement for access to proprietary diagnostic software, manufacturer-approved servicing protocols and OEM replacement parts.
