The brief

The Framework is for the provision of Peatland Restoration to Durham County Council and affiliated bodies.

It is to deliver works for peatland restoration, including but not exclusively; fencing, supplying and spreading moss rich brash, reprofiling, supply and insulation of wooden, stone or coir dams, installation of peat dams and supply and spreading of lime, fertiliser and seed.

The Council anticipates awarding a place on the framework to the top eight scoring bidding organisations scoring over 60% overall (subject to a minimum score of 40% out of 60% for the technical score and meeting all essential criteria).

The initial duration of the proposed Framework Agreement is 2 years subject to the right of the Council (at its sole discretion) to exercise its option to extend for up to 2 x 12 months subject to funding.

The Framework does not include any guarantee of any minimum volume of works, or any minimum expenditure.

Furthermore, appointment under the Framework Agreement does not constitute a commitment by the Council, or any other contracting authority to the exclusive use of the Framework or an individual supplier for such requirements.
