The brief

The Royal Navy Museums ("RNM") is leading a sector leading project to conserve HMS Victory, ensuring the long-term preservation of this world-class historic vessel.

In addition to being the only surviving exemplar of a Royal Navy capital warship from the Age of Sail, HMS Victory continues to be a significant visitor attraction within the setting of No.

2 Dock and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard whilst continuing to serve as a commissioned warship and the Flagship of the First Sea Lord.

The aim of the HMS Victory Conservation Project ("HMS Victory: The Big Repair") is to deliver a fully conserved ship, able to survive in an open environment for the next 50 years without major work beyond a programme of planned maintenance.

To support in this endeavour, the RNM is seeking to appoint a single contractor to deliver waste collection and disposal services.

The appointed contractor will ensure that all project generated waste is managed safely and disposed of lawfully, sustainably and in full compliance with appropriate regulations.

This requirement relates specifically to waste generated as part of the conservation project and excludes routine operational waste streams, such as general office or catering waste.

The scope will cover key areas: a.

Ensuring compliance with environmental and waste management legislation b.

Supporting the safe handling, containment and disposal of hazardous materials, including lead‑contaminated waste c.

Enabling the effective delivery of the HMS Victory Conservation Project
