The brief

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and independent vehicle inspection provider to undertake inspection, audit and assurance services for its operational and support vehicle fleet.

The successful contractor will provide independent quality assurance of vehicle maintenance services delivered under LFB's existing fleet maintenance contract.

The service will include the inspection and auditing of vehicle condition, maintenance standards and repair quality, together with the identification of defects, recurring issues and fleet-wide trends.

The fleet consists primarily of specialist emergency response and Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) operating across London.

Inspections will be undertaken in accordance with applicable fire service fleet maintenance standards and industry best practice.

Services will include detailed vehicle examinations, post-maintenance audits, defect reporting, performance monitoring and the provision of management information to support fleet oversight and continuous improvement.

The contract will support LFB in maintaining high standards of vehicle safety, roadworthiness, reliability and contractor performance through a risk-based inspection and assurance approach.

The proposed contract term is two (2) years with an option to extend for a further one (1) year.
