The brief

The Nature Restoration Fund (NRF) is intended to support strategic, large-scale action to address environmental impacts arising from development, including nutrient enrichment affecting protected sites.

Within the River Wensum Special Area of Conservation (SAC) catchment, the NRF provides an opportunity to identify and prioritise durable, landscape-scale conservation measures that deliver long-term ecological improvement and help restore the integrity and resilience of internationally important habitats and species.

To procure a consultant to produce a high level list of potential, in perpetuity conservation measures that would benefit features of the River Wensum Special Area of Conservation (SAC) affected by nutrient enrichment (see Annex A).

The output will support Natural England, local authorities, and catchment partners in shaping future nutrient mitigation, restoration and investment programmes.
