The brief

Norfolk County Council is developing two new recycling centres for Norwich due to open in Autumn 2021.

Reuse shops will be based at each site enabling the resale of a variety of second-hand materials that are brought into recycling centres in usable condition.

Norfolk County Council are keen to hear from charities who might be interested in operating one or both new reuse shops.

The plans for the new recycling centres including reuse shops are available here: http://eplanning.norfolk.gov.uk/PlanAppDisp.aspx?AppNo=FUL/2020/0040 http://eplanning.norfolk.gov.uk/PlanAppDisp.aspx?AppNo=FUL/2020/0040 Elevations show the floor area and facilities at each shop.

The shops are expected to handle approximately 250 tonnes of reusable materials per shop annually and have a designated parking area.

This invitation has been issued purely as an information seeking exercise and any future procurement will be conducted in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

A response to this advert does not guarantee an invitation to tender for any future services which the County Council may advertise, nor that it will procure any such services or accept any proposals offered.

The County Council would welcome the opportunity to talk informally with individual organisations and will be available for meetings during the fortnight commencing December 7th via Zoom or MS Teams.

Ideally charities should have previous experience of operating reuse shops based at recycling centres.
