The brief

Folkestone and Hythe District Council (the Council) is delivering a new wet and dry leisure centre to replace Hythe Swimming Pool, a facility which has reached the end of its natural life and no longer serves the needs of local residents.

The Council has appointed BAM under a two-stage design and build contract to construct the new centre.

This tender concerns the long-term management contract for the Centre.

The construction of the new centre will commence in February 2022 and is due for completion in September 2023.

The leisure management contract will commence at this point and will be for an initial period of 10 years (with an option at the absolute discretion of the Council to extend the contract period by a period or periods of up to a maximum of 5 additional years).

The management contract is being procured as a single stage process and the opportunity is available on Kent Business Portal (ref no.

DN543497) and can be accessed by via the e-tendering webpage, https://www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk/.
