This sits in the upper-middle of the Health & Social Care band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 32,734 valued Health & Social Care tenders in our corpus.

The brief

We would like to invite established Social Care providers to tender for the opportunity to deliver a social care service to the Greenwich cluster of prisons including HMP Belmarsh, HMP Thameside and HMP YOI Isis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Care provider to deliver social care support to prisoners in the Greenwich cluster of prisons in-line with the Care Act 2014.

The Care Act 2014 bought new duties in relation to prisons and social care.

These duties include, from 1.4.2015, the delivery of social care to all eligible prisoners while detained in 1 of the 3 prisons in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The current contract expires on 31.3.2017 and we are looking to commence a new service from 1.4.2017 with the provider award taking place on or around 3.10.2016.

This is to facilitate a 6 month period for the security clearance and training of staff.

All staff involved in the contract must be cleared to Enhanced Level 2 and NSC (Criminal Records Office (CRO) and Counter Terrorism Checks (CTC)).

Matched against the notice text, so this is a floor — the tender pack will demand things the notice never mentions. “Says must” means the quoted sentence itself used obligation language; anything ambiguous is left as a mention.
