The brief

NHS Nene Clinical Commissioning Group ("the CCG") is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers who can deliver a suitable package of care to an individual ("service user").

The service user is a young gentleman with autism, associated severe challenging behaviour with infrequent but significant aggression.

There are also physical co-morbidities, namely diabetes and suspected epilepsy.

Please see Appendix 1 and Appendix 2 for further details.

Expressions of interest are welcome from organisations that are able to meet the following minimum selection requirements: • Autism accreditation and date of expiry on the register; • Experience in managing severe challenging behaviour (both in terms of the organisation as a whole and the proposed staff individually); • Appropriate staff skill/qualification within the immediate team providing the package of care for the service user and an experienced and qualified team leader who will closely oversee the package of care and liaise closely with the CCGs; • Knowledge of, training in and implementation of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, associated codes of practice and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards; • Ability to work with different strategies for the service user at times of escalated presentation, including removing carers from the environment (please note that the service user currently uses seclusion); • Ability within your organisation to develop behavioural support plans including desensitisation and implement them to support the young man to engage with new coping strategies; • Appropriate, effective and timely support systems within the organisation for the staff providing the care package • A willingness to deliver the required services in the Northamptonshire locality. • An appropriate property or process proposed to identify an appropriate property (within timescales) If you are interested in this opportunity, please email your expression of interest to Stephen Ivuerah (Stephen.Ivuerah@ardengemcsu.nhs.uk) by no later than 5.00pm on Friday 8th April 2016.
