Outcome — awarded

This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.

The brief

Swale Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from organisations / parties to collect small electricals (WEEE) and textiles from properties in the borough.

This is to be at no charge to the resident and the Council will not be funding the service.

The organisation is to cover the costs of collections and sorting.

The Council is seeking an experienced operator who can provide an online booking service for all properties within the borough of Swale.

Collections to be booked online by residents who are then given a collection day.

Residents then either place the bagged or boxed items outside (in a dry area) on the day of collection, or the crew will door knock and collect the item from the resident directly.

Items collected are then to be re-homed or re-used but all elements are to be recycled.

Organisations can include other items in these collection arrangements such as toys or books.

The successful organisations / party must operate in compliance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013 and be registered as a licensed waste carrier.

Please submit your EOI by Tuesday 25 February, 12 Noon via the Procontract Portal or by email to: tenders@swale.gov.uk
