Hull City Council is seeking to procure a Doula and Breastfeeding Peer Support Service to support vulnerable women / fathers / families and encourage women to breastfeed in the city.
The service will recruit and maintain a volunteer base to be Doulas, Breastfeeding Peer Supporters and Baby Feeding Practitioners.
The doula service will support vulnerable women / fathers / families referred into the service throughout the pregnancy, birth and up to 6 weeks postnatally.
The BFPS will ensure all breastfeeding women in Hull have access to breastfeeding peer support as well as specialist support provided by Baby Feeding Practitioners who will be based within local Maternity Unit’s and the community providing support for the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding.
