The brief

NHS South of England Procurement Services (SoEPS), acting on behalf of Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are commencing a tender for the provision of General Practice Specialty Trainee (GPST) Medical Indemnity Insurance across London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex HEE Regions.

HEE (London, Kent Surrey & Sussex) are currently looking to establish a single and block Provider of Medical Indemnity Insurance for all its General Practice Specialty Trainees (GPST), whilst working in Primary Care settings, and within its training schemes situated within the locations listed above.

The procurement will be comprised of two Lots and any interested provider will be able to bid for one or both of these lots.

There will be two contracts awarded one for each Lot.

Lot 1 - all its General Practice Specialty Trainees (GPSTs) whilst based within a Primary Care setting on one of HEE LaSE approved training programmes across London Lot 2 - all its General Practice Specialty Trainees (GPSTs) whilst based within a Primary Care setting on one of HEE LaSE approved training programmes across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

HEE proposes that the new arrangements for both Lots should commence from 01 August 2018 with a contract start date of 01 June 2018 to allow for a two-month mobilisation period.

The contract renewal date after three years for both Lots would be 01 August 2021 with a maximum final contact end date of 01 August 2023 (allowing for an optional extension of up to two years subject to satisfactory performance), giving a maximum contract length of five years.

By Lot, the maximum total value of this contract is expected to be no greater than: Lot 1 - £4,136,865.00 over a maximum total contract length of five years, allowing for one two-year extension.

Lot 2 - £2,876,395.00 over a maximum total contract length of five years, allowing for one two-year extension.

These figures are exclusive of any applicable VAT.
