The brief

Lytchett Matravers Parish Council invites tenders for the refurbishment and enhancement of Rocket Park, the village's principal public play area located in Lytchett Matravers, Poole, Dorset.

What3Words: ///mutual/nursing/crunching The project aims to revitalise the existing play area by replacing selected older equipment, improving all-weather accessibility, and increasing the appeal of the park for both younger children and teenagers.

The Council is particularly seeking innovative and durable play solutions that will create a renewed "wow factor" within the park while complementing the existing retained equipment.

The scope of works includes: -Removal and disposal of selected existing play equipment. -Relocation of an existing rotator within the site. -Installation of new toddler-focused play equipment (ages approximately 1-6). -Installation of new challenging play equipment aimed at older children/teenagers (ages approximately 12-15). -Replacement of the existing inset trampoline. -Installation of new wetpour safety surfacing and pathways. -Upgrades to the existing ball court including a combined football goal/basketball hoop arrangement. -New court markings and toddler roadway markings. -Installation of play panels within the toddler area.

The Council requires equipment to be of durable, low-maintenance construction and not timber-based.

The successful contractor will be responsible for all associated removal, disposal, surfacing, installation, welfare facilities, site safety, and reinstatement works.

All equipment and surfacing must comply with current relevant British Standards including BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177.

The anticipated contract value is approximately between £70,000-£85,000 excluding VAT.

Works are intended to take place during Autumn 2026, with contractors requested to minimise disruption during school holiday periods where possible.

Tender submissions should include: -Design proposal and visuals/layouts -Itemised pricing schedule -Proposed programme/timeline -Equipment specifications -Warranty and maintenance information -Relevant experience and references -Confirmation of insurance and compliance with applicable standards The contract will be awarded on the basis of overall value, including play value, quality, durability, experience, and cost.
