The brief

SeaWeb is a service used by MAIB to support accident Investigation.

SeaWeb is a commercial service offering a resource and database of international shipping activities.

This service combines comprehensive data on ships, owners, shipbuilders, fixtures, casualties, port state control, ISM, real-time vessel movements and ports information into a single application.

There are limited service like this available and a single tender is required as the HIS Markit SeaWeb service is the most comprehensive and up to date service available.

S&P Global Justification - The single tender is for 2 services: • SeaWeb data Service COMPASS API.

This takes a direct feed from SeaWeb into the MAIB Case Management system and allows users to easily populate vessel and company information relating to an investigation. • SeaWeb Online Subscription 1 login with up to 5 users.

This is a single shared login to the SeaWeb website via a web browser.

This is used by all staff to search for relevant information regarding a vessel, it’s owner and other associated information regarding the management of a vessel.

Without access to this information, it has a potential to delay our investigations.
