The Safety Climate Tool (SCT) has been developed by the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL), who are part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The SCT is a robust, scientifically rigorous and validated psychometric assessor of an organisation's safety culture.
The SCT measures the attitudes and perceptions of the workforce about health and safety and uses 40 statements across eight factors to measure safety culture quantitatively within the Agency.
The output by way of a report provides an understanding of the safety culture, by summarising the views and experiences of our colleagues.
The results can be used to support ISO45001 accreditation Using the SCT will enable the Agency to focus on the outcomes and make targeted improvements to further enhance the safety culture.
