The brief

The Tenderer should be aware that the works detailed in this package are constrained due to the nature of the location they are to be conducted in.

Project location HM Naval Base Portsmouth The Contractor shall be expected to adhere by the HMNB site security requirements, all Contractors and Sub-Contractors shall be BPSS security vetted and will be required to hold the relevant site security passes.

The Contractor shall be expected to hold the following levels of insurance £10m Public Liability, £10m Product Liability, £5m Professional Indemnity.

KBS Maritime are delivering an ambitious, modern and enduring change to the Portsmouth Naval base infrastructure, securing investment in the local community and ensuring fit-for-purpose, world-leading fleet support for the Royal Navy and the UK in the decades ahead.

Project Background There is a requirement to carry out a detailed survey and design of the drainage pumping system.

The detailed design shall include a hydraulic survey of the existing system.

A survey of the structure and masonry inspection/samples to be taken where applicable.

Sketches and drawings should provide evidence to confirm use of existing infrastructure (OHT cranes) for maintenance operations where applicable e.g. pump/valve/covers removal.

Required: - To include supply and installation of 2 x circa 1,800 m3/hr drainage pumps, the pumps shall interface with the existing auto coupling and existing discharge pipework and valves.

A condition survey of the existing infrastructure shall be undertaken and any recommended modifications included in the tender submission. - To include supply and installation of a new electronic control systems and upgrades to electrical infrastructure as necessary.

Control systems must enable manual duty change over and duty assist to run both pumps in the event of a deluge.

High level alarm system and maintenance feedback e.g. temperature, water-in-oil and hours run, should feature within the control panels. - To interface with existing BMS system present in the building with the possibility of integrating with the updated SCADA system being proposed. - The existing civils and access/safety arrangements are deemed to be reusable. - Value <£2m KBS Works Contract will be applicable to this project (this will be made available at ITT stage)
