Chorley Council is inviting tenders for a Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the design and build of Whittle-le-Woods General Practice (GP) Surgery as more particularly described in the Invitation to Tender and associated documents.
The current Whittle Surgery site has been deemed not fit for purpose; the practice is working from a small, old, damp building which is only 245.84m².
There are currently 10,100 patients and the recommended space for this number of patients is more than 679m².
Following an options appraisal, the decision to proceed with a new building which will be fit for purpose and designed as an extendable building to take into account it's ever-increasing patient numbers and will be capable of taking services out of hospitals was taken.
The new building to accommodate GP Surgery tenant comprising 10 Consultant and 2 Treatment rooms as primary clinical need adopting the principles set out in a previously completed design.
This opportunity is to take the current design proposal from end of RIBA Stage 3 through to completion and in-use.
There will be an opportunity to visit the site which will be held on Wednesday 12th February at 11.am.
