Bedford College is seeking a fixed price design & build tender to carryout roofing and related works at Shuttleworth College.
The campus comprises of a series of specialist teaching facilities; support buildings and two student residential blocks [Halls of Residence (HoR)].
The tender shall exclude principal contractor duties [performed by another contractor directly appointed by Bedford College] and the provision of site welfare.
Set out below are the works that form this tender.
1.
Provide stage RIBA 5/6 roof design services.
2.
Install access scaffolding; safety handrails and load out platforms to support the roofing works.
3.
Strip off existing roof covering and insulation. [See Table A below].
4.
Remove all waste from site.
See below the packages not forming part of the tender are as follows: Pipework; heater emitters and new plant room across the whole campus.
Internal refurbishment of two residential blocks & common room [the company carrying out these works will be appointed Principal Contractor] It should be note that there are likely to be at least three other companies on site during these works.
All companies shall submit RAMS to the principal contractor and fully comply with their H&S rules at all times.
