The contract is managed by BHRUT and this includes provision for Barking Havering and Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group (BHRCCG) Partners.
NEPT services annually complete circa 80 000 journeys covering outpatients, discharges, transfers, admissions, home assessments and mental health/secure patient transport.
The duration of the current contract is 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2021.
The proposal is to award a 1 year contract extension from the 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 with the option to extend for a further two 12 month periods (maximum 36 months in total).
Future Extension periods will be established upon review of the NEL collaborative process and Covid-19 pandemic response ensuring continuity of service.
The value of the proposed twelve month term is circa GBP 4.5 million based on current cost/activity.
