The supplier is encouraged to comment on any aspect of the specification and to identify possiblemodifications that could lead to either improved quality or reduced cost (without compromising the performance specification).
It is acknowledged that different suppliers will have different preferences and techniques for manufacturing so itis anticipated that a series of detailed design meetings will take place to agree the definitive design of the mirrorposition adjustment systems.
The supplier will then produce a set of detailed drawings to present to DLS for finalapproval at FDR prior to commencing manufacture.
The optics will be installed at DLS on a remotely controlled positioning system and operated under very highvacuum (VHV) conditions.
The mirrors are to be UHV compatible.
