West Berkshire Council has undertaken a full review of the Reintegration Service and Alternative Curriculum Service and all of the properties currently used to deliver the service, including 6th form provision.
The review has identified the need to rationalise the number of facilities and it is recommended a replacement 12-16 place PRU be located in the East of the district.
The replacement premises will provide more space for general teaching, dedicated space for individual work or 1:1 teaching, and dedicated outside social space for recreation time.
Ideally the site will have access to outdoor sports (games court) and land for the development of vocational activities including horticulture.
West Berkshire Council intend to run a mini tender via the Westworks Development and Construction DPS (CONST2018) to appoint a contractor to construct the following: Demolition of existing and building of new storey replacement building and associated external works, at High View, Calcot, West Berkshire, RG31 4XD The works will be let as a JCT INTERMEDIATE CONTRACT 2011 WITH CONTRACTORS DESIGN The planning application drawings have been produced by Quattro Design Architects, and these will form the basis of the tender drawings.
