Qvidian is RFP response and proposal management software from Upland Software (Nasdaq: UPLD). If you are looking for a Qvidian alternative, the first thing worth establishing is whether you are replacing a response tool with another response tool, or trying to solve a different problem entirely.
This page compares Qvidian and RFP Quest on published facts only. Every claim about Qvidian comes from a page Upland controls, and carries the date it was checked.
What Upland publishes about Qvidian
Upland describes Qvidian as "AI powered RFP response and proposal management software to win new business faster", helping teams "deliver superior sales docs across the entire deal cycle".
The document types it names are unusually broad: proactive proposals, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, security questionnaires, DDQs, statements of work, and pitch decks and presentations.
Named integrations are Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The AI capability is named Qvidian AI Assist, described as generating and revising responses, analysing questionnaires automatically, and adjusting content for tone, length and voice.
No pricing is published on that page. (All checked 2026-08-10.)
Upland acquired Qvidian in an announcement dated November 2017 — its largest acquisition at that point, adding approximately $19.5 million in annualised revenue. That announcement described Qvidian as serving "more than 1,000 companies worldwide and 200,000 users". Those are 2017 figures and we have not found a current equivalent, so they should not be read as today's scale.
What RFP Quest publishes about itself
RFP Quest ingests Find a Tender and Contracts Finder via OCDS, under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Our category taxonomy covers CPV divisions 48 and 72 only — software and IT services. We are in early access and do not publish a price list.
When Qvidian is the better choice
You answer far more than tenders. Qvidian names eight document types, including RFQs, DDQs, security questionnaires, statements of work and pitch decks. If your team's real workload is a mixed queue of enterprise sales documents and only some of it is public-sector tendering, that breadth is the deciding factor and we do not offer it.
Your process lives in Salesforce and Microsoft 365. Qvidian publishes Salesforce, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint integrations. RFP Quest publishes none of these. If proposal content has to originate and finish inside Word and PowerPoint with Salesforce as the system of record, that is a workflow requirement Qvidian meets and we do not.
You need a vendor with public-company reporting behind it. Upland is listed on Nasdaq, which means audited financials and a disclosure regime a procurement or vendor-risk review can actually inspect. RFP Quest is an early-access product from a small private UK company and publishes no security certification. Where vendor stability is a scored criterion, that difference is real and it is not in our favour.
Where the two genuinely differ
Qvidian is a response and content-governance platform: you bring the document, it helps you produce it consistently and at scale, with an approved content library behind it.
RFP Quest starts earlier — finding UK public-sector notices, categorising them, extracting the requirements stated in the notice text, and building forward windows from how often a buyer has re-tendered. The drafting comes after that, and only for the notices we hold.
So the two are not really substitutes. A UK team could plausibly run both: one to decide what to bid for, the other to produce the document. If you are choosing between them as though they did the same job, the choice is probably mis-framed.
What we could not verify
- Any pricing figure. Not published on the Qvidian product page as at 2026-08-10.
- Current customer or user numbers. The 1,000 companies / 200,000 users figures date from Upland's 2017 acquisition announcement; no current figure was found on Upland's own pages.
- Named security certifications. Not stated on the product page we checked.
- UK-specific procurement regime support. We found no Procurement Act 2023 or Find a Tender material on Upland's Qvidian pages, which is not the same as it being absent — ask directly.
How to choose
- Count your document types for one month. If tenders are a minority of what your team produces, a broad response platform is the right shape and a UK tender tool is not.
- Ask where the work has to end up. If the answer is "a formatted Word document that matches our template", integration with Word is not a nice-to-have.
- Separate the two problems. Which opportunities should we pursue? and how do we produce the document? are different purchases. Most teams have one of them much worse than the other, and buying for the wrong one is the common expensive mistake in this category.
