Encompassing the TSP in the academic years 2017-18 to 2019-20, the TSP evaluation has the following aims: • Conduct an evaluation of the perceptions of the TSP, in particular of the specific strands of support offered to schools for improving teacher recruitment and retention among school leaders and teachers who participate in the Programme. • Identify 'what works' with the TSP - i.e. what initiatives are working to address teacher supply, and in what context.
This shall follow five key phases: • Phase 1 - Inception and developing detailed logic models for individual strands of the TSP. • Phase 2 - Online surveys with headteachers/senior leaders and teachers (including a focus on early careers teachers). • Phase 3 - Qualitative interviews with headteachers/senior leaders and teachers (including a focus on early careers teachers). • Phase 4 - Longitudinal case-study visits. • Phase 5 - Analysis.
The sample size for online surveys, interviews and case studies are dependent on the number of schools that engage in the TSP.
